Orthodontia:
Orthodontia also called orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, is a specialty field of dentistry that deals primarily with malpositioned teeth and the jaws: their diagnosis, prevention and correction. Here at Optimal Dentistry, we use all traditional orthodontics tools in addition to Invisalign.
Clear aligners:
Clear aligners, also known as clear-aligner treatment, are orthodontic devices that are a transparent, plastic form of dental braces used to adjust teeth. There are about 27 products available including Invisalign. Treatment begins with taking x-ray, photographs, a bite registration, and polyvinyl siloxane impressions of the person’s teeth and gums. The dentist/orthodontist completes a written evaluation that includes diagnosis and treatment plan. Dental impressions are scanned in order to create a digital 3D representation of the teeth. Technicians move the teeth to the desired location with the program Treat, which creates the stages between the current and desired teeth positions. Anywhere from six to forty-eight aligners may be needed. Each aligner moves teeth .25 to .33 millimeters.
How Invisalign works?
Your dentist will examine your teeth and show you what Invisalign treatment can do for you.
After that, your dentist will get a fast, precise digital scan and map out a custom treatment plan just for you. You’ll even get to preview your new smile.
Once your digital plan is finalized, your custom aligners are made using state-of-the-art printing process.
Your Invisalign will then be shipped to your dentist. When you pick your first aligners, your dentist will ensure the aligners fit well and answer your questions, and let you know what to expect.
